The v3/v4 element upgrade
The element upgrade covers the exchange of anode electrodes in older generations of elements, e. g. louver electrodes will be removed from v3 or v4 anode half-shells and v5 or v5+ C-profiles will be welded in, leading to a gain of approx. 70 kWh/t of NaOH compared with a newly coated v3 element.
Zero gap retrofit - closing the gap
An even bigger boost in performance can be achieved by retrofitting your v3 or v4 elements to zero-gap technology, reducing the consumed energy per ton of NaOH by approx. 115 kWh for v3-ZG. The components used in the latest generation v6 elements are utilized to ensure stable long-term operation for the retrofitted elements.
The upgrade or retrofit of old elements may be done for the entire cell room or for individual electrolyzers only. The existing equipment in the cell room will be used to the maximum possible extent, e. g. electrolyzer racks, piping and busbars.
